Dig Monkeys was founded as a platform to share, investigate, and celebrate the fields of ancient history and archaeology. Our aim here is to cultivate a community of history and archaeology enthusiasts and to show others the wonders of our shared past. As young historians and archaeologists ourselves we hope to educate and inspire.

So, why ‘Dig Monkeys’? Our name reflects our interest in archaeology and history, from physical excavation to digging through the paper analysis of the past. It also reflects our fascinating human origins but most importantly we want to have fun and not take ourselves too seriously!

What to Expect

On our site there is a variety of content from articles, to book reviews and recommendations, to podcast suggestions and other useful resources. We also have short-form Interviews with 10 questions and answers from leading researchers, academics, and authors in the fields of history and archaeology. Join us and be a part of this journey!
